nah, keep going with the sketches, even though I would prefer you do them on paper than digital, but as long as your sketching and you are honest to your sketches, its fine.

hey everyone.

 

Ok so I have been sketching a lot still, as well as some photography. But, I am getting that I am repeating bad habits in all my sketches.. And im doing the same bad things over and over again. I would really like to hear some comments on what you guys thing and what i could do to improve.

no doubt, your renderings improved.

 

But it is also a no doubt that, you started tablet way too early in the game.

New idea, and I really think this overall sketch and render came out very well and I a really thinking about developing this, maybe for the upcoming LM contest..who knows. but the front will be a multi-use system that you will have to wait and see what it is used for! so stick around, and please comment!

nice, i really like it.

 

But I think it is now time to think about form and function as you draw these.

 

For example, I don't see a point of those two poles being in the front except that it will distract the hell of out the driver.

 

interesting concept though.

 

try drawing through your objects a bit more.

yeah taro i agree, I was thinking of something for the bars, but then when i finished it I realized that the same function could work if the bars were in the back, so more to come! thanks

just an audi from the sketchbook, wanted to post it on this thread too....

since you post it here, ill comment here too haha

 

I think it will really help you alot in both sketching and designing to PRINT OUT a copy of the audi vans, Q5, Q7 etc etc.

 

Use them as an underlay ALWAYS and redesign on top of that. Then your branding will become more obvious than it is right now.

 

And don't think it won't help doing overlays, what will probably happen is that, you finish sketching with tracing paper, and you lift up the paper, and it looks dead and boring. Eventually, you will start to automatically add more of your emotion to it, until people can't even tell that you traced the overall shape. Lastly, go back to sketching your own cars : )
