Thedinomeister: Sketches And Renders

I agree, for me it is a close call between you 2nd and 4th. I think that the 4th one is better since it isn't overly saturated. The marker adds to the form and help explain it while in your other drawings it feels like your "just coloring in".

In any case, it's a good exercise, just doing on drawing over and over again. You kinda find out what works for you the best.

Good job

Austin -- the music is from Moby's new album "Last Night". The first song is called "Oh Yeah" and the last part is another song on the same album called "Degenerates".

Thanks for that. great work with your sketching style too. it's nice to see someone who doesn't have to be pushed by a professor to improve his work. Great that you have the drive and desire yourself. It really helps.

Great stuff! Yeah I'm likeing the 4th one the best but I think I would have liked to see just a bit more of the front wheels . . . i can tell the style your after but i think you should at least bring the wheel lines down past the axel a bit because right now it seems like its embeded into the ground

Yeah, the wheels look triangular...

I just made another car sketching video. It looks great halfway through the video and then I end up butchering it with a prismacolor pencil towards the end. You have been warned...

any critiques on the technique? proportions? missing anything? etc..

I'll be doing another video tonight. Might be up on the net by tomorrow night.

okay, I did another one but this time I have taken the 3/4 view from the last 2 videos and tilted it downwards.

[Film was shown at 2X speed as usual - this took 15 minutes]

Music:

Da Hype - Junior Jack

Superheroes - Daft Punk

sketchyd: I use windows movie maker, it's free and should already be on your computer (assuming it's a PC, MAC's have something similar too)

careful when choosing music-- I got a copyright notice from youtube for one of my video's from a while back because I used a weezer song. I guess you should just be sure to include who the music is by in the description because I did that for all my car vid's and haven't recieved any notices....yet.

for your second last video, the prisma pencil just ruined it because of two things.

-i personally think the black was too strong for your picture.

-im not sure if u messed up on ur line weight, or u purposely did that, because at first, they were all the same thickness when you were outlinning the car, then u add in more weight on the bottom and stuff. But really, the top of the car, and the windshield etc.. shouldnt even be that thick, parts of it shouldnt even be outlined.

other than that, i really like ur style of rendering, and the sketch that u did b4 hand with the pen was amazing too! good job

o ya, r the colors purple because its smudging? because mine does that too lol

I may be wrong here, but i think ur prespective is a little bit off. Sometimes it's made bigger at the front to look like it's "coming out of the page" but it's too exaggerated in your case at the front; making it look like its going foward to the side, then the front twisted up. But if you did want that effect, you should of turned your wheels a bit.
