Guest Skint Report post Posted September 4, 2008 Your Akira bike is cool. I guess its personal taste, but I like your hatching and I like seeing all your construction lines and messy sketchiness throughout the piece
Guest Emil Andersson Report post Posted September 4, 2008 Looks good! Though, on the first cars, make sure the perspective and degrees are correct on your wheels.

Sketchyd 4 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 great stuff... one thing id like to say thogh... i cant really put my finger on it. but something about your sketches. they all feel.......... toy-like. not in the whole fantasy sci-fi way. but they dont come off as real. but rather cartoony, toyish. im not sure why though. maybe proportion issue? look into that. thedinomeister 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 FIRST YEAR BULL S*** lol just kiddn brother yeah your sketches are realli good man. did u do sum sort of drawing cource before doing industrial design?? I'm in second year now. Class of 2011. I already had drawing experience before I got into ID. I have been drawing since I was a baby. I went to community college for 2 years where I took art courses after high school --class of 2005 (I'm turning 21 this Wednesday). I think my biggest leap in improvement really happened just over the last year. here's some more stuff:

thedinomeister 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 some more stuff... (1st one: i just scanned my drawings as opposed to photographing them like before so now you can see my full page of drawings from before-- not that it matters it just looks better IMO) the second one was an earlier attempt at marker rendering. thedinomeister 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 I drew this recently too, thought I would share it. I swear ID sketching has improved my overall drawing ability and speed. This took me one hour.
Guest madmatt Report post Posted September 21, 2008 Keep to post, you are improving :-) Bye
Guest Skint Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Impressive hand sketches mate. The car at the top of the previous post is fantastic too.
Guest sachin Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Looking at your ID style sketches, you still need to work on ellipses. Try to aim nailing an ellipse within two passes. It takes a lot of practice to do so, but your wheels will look a lot more confident. I sometimes like to draw dozens of pages of circles, ellipses and straight lines. Its a very helpful exercise in training your arm to your eye. Also, I think hatching and the technique for your hand sketches is the most successful. It looks a lot fresher than your last sketch that featured crazy hatching. Overall I definitely see improvement through practice. Keep up the good work! Guest bennybtl Report post Posted September 29, 2008 You're really improving, this recent set is looking balanced between control and looseness. You appear to be getting more confident by the restraint you're showing with your markers.
thedinomeister 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 I couldn't restrain my markers this time
