The Great Tube Challenge

Calling all product designers. We here at Sportsstuff have teamed up with Boating Life magazine to hold a tube design competition. Read below to find out more and good luck!

From http://www.boatinglife.com/:

Spend two days with a bunch of caffeinated friends testing 20 exotic tubes and you can imagine the ideas that start flying around. And that got us to thinking...

What if we had a contest where kids could send in ideas for a new tube? And so, the Great Tube Challenge was born.

How it works:

You send us your idea for a new tube. Include drawings, a brief description and a name for the tube. We'll send the entries to the Sportsstuff team so they can determine a winner based on creativity and practicality.

What you could win:

Sportsstuff will make an actual prototype of the winning idea and Boating Life will invite the winner to a site to be determined for a maiden run on the tube. You could find yourself featured in the magazine and on sportsstuff.com.

Go to http://www.boatinglife.com/ or http://www.sportsstuff.com/ for entry forms and official rules.

Thanks!

-Shawn

Guest PI Yiting

Hello,

Play Imaginative (PI) and The Coca-Cola Company are embarking on an urban designer program themed "A Better Tomorrow". This program features a worlwide online design contest using PI's designer toy 'trexi' as a canvas.

Revolving around Coca-Cola's global brand campaign "Coke Side of Life" and the manifesto that Coca-Cola is much more than a beverage; it reflects the simple, optimistic moments in life -- the companies are calling for designers who can express their passion for design and for the Coca-Cola brand by way of their art. Using 'trexi' as a 3D medium, the challenge is to depict their own personal definition of happiness creatively, and show the world what their vision of "A Better Tomorrow" looks like.

Comprising 25 designs in total, the top 15 designs will be chosen by way of the public's votes to join 10 other internationally renowned character artists in the new "A Better Tomorrow" trexi series. The series will be launched in May 2007.

Top prize includes USD$10,000 cash, seeing your trexi design in the ABT trexi series, an an opportunity to see your art on a Coca-Cola bottle.

Submissions are open from 16 Nov 2006 to 15 Jan 2007 so spread the word!

Please log onto www.trexi.com.sg/abt.htm for details.

Thanks!

This poster will be distributed in schools in African rural areas, starting in Kenya.

We are looking for a graphically attractive poster with a dynamic and inviting message to attract girls/women in different African Cultures to discuss these gender based violence issues. With this poster we would like to motivate girls to contact the local organisation RENOCP for further help and support.
