Design the product of your dreams and we'll show it to the world!
Tired of boring mobile products? Are you sick of being told that you can have whatever color you want, as long as it’s black or silver? So are we. And we want you to do something about it!
We’re looking for the product design of your dreams -- the gadget you wish you could have but nobody makes -- whether it’s a hot-pink notebook with giant fins or a cell phone that’s so thin it can live in your back pocket. We know you’ve got ideas: here’s your chance to show the world.
Send us high-res images of your brilliant new concept for a combination GPS and camcorder, your revolutionary media player with a foldout screen, or any other mobile technology product to design@mobilepcmag.com. The only limit is your imagination and your 3-D design skills.
We’ll feature our favorite submissions in an upcoming issue of Mobile PC (and send you an honorarium for your trouble) along with some concepts from top professional designers.
Designs must be received by October 10, 2004. The Mobile PC editorial staff will contact you if your design is selected for inclusion in the magazine.

BraunPrize – International competition to promote young designers.
The BraunPrize seeks to promote the work of young designers from all over the world, to recognise the work of design schools and to help develop a greater appreciation of the factors and criteria which make for good product design.
The total prize money amounts is € 30,000. The winner of the BraunPrize will receive € 12.000 in prize money or a (paid) six-months internship in Design Department at Braun.
Participants are free to choose any subject for their product concepts. The product concepts submitted should represent real innovations in design and technology.
The jury assesses all the product concepts in accordance with the following criteria:
Design – innovation, aesthetics, clarity, ergonomics
Technology – how convincing is the product functionality?
Usability – the benefit which the product provides for user
Entry documents for the first round of the competition may be submitted by post, courier, or by using online upload facility on the BraunPrize web site. Please note that physical design model will have to be submitted by participants who are selected for the second round.
Closing date for the first stage is January 31, 2005. On-line entries must arrive on the BraunPrize server by midnight (CET). Entries sent by post must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2005.

1st VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD
