Rik's Online Mini Portfolio - Feedback Welcome :-)

Recommended Posts

Guest Rik

Hi Everyone,

I'd appreciate some feedback on my design work. I specialise in kitchenware design and so have dedicated the whole website to this one area. I've been freelancing for the last year and a half and hope to join a company soon (finding a job is bloody hard work though!). I haven't put all my designs up (I'm keeping a few secret ;)) but this should give you a taster of what I'm about:

All constructive feedback is very welcome, thanks

Rik :)

Ps. I know Rampant Design is a bit of a risque name but it catches people's attention! :P

Thumbs up from here Rik.

It is not often to see specialized portfolios and that is a great step forward.

I like your ideas specially Olive Checkers where I wouldn't mind to add peanuts and cheeses to the game of course with a very cold beer.

Did you develop any prototype?

Kind regards.

I really like your design,

especially when it's a clean style like the Qb, Heinz can and the Fruit rack :D

It's great that you have a versatility in style, they all work for you.

I like your portfolio in general too, think it's clean and easy to navigate.

One thing i missed while i was browsing through the designs though, was

some kind of information of what a product was. A few sentences or something

like that. Just to know what a certain product is and what it will be used for.

Keep up the good work! :D

Thanks for the nice comments Jose3 and Elle.

Jose3: I like the idea of adding alternative foods (and the cold beer, very appealing!). Watch this space… Some of the designs I do have prototypes for, this one unfortunately not yet. However, I do have a mate with a £40k 3D colour printer at work, maybe I’ll see if I can use it and make some more prototypes!

Elle: Thanks for the ego boost, sometimes needed when you’ve been working on your own too long! There are actually a few sentences connected to each design but I think I hid them too subtly!! :D Try rolling your mouse over each main picture and text should appear from nowhere!

Rik :D

Nice interface, easy to get around.

Would suggest you mention what versions of software you are comfortable with in your resume section though :D

Oh, and if your looking for a job outside of the UK, I'd ditch having nationality, DOB, or any of that sort of stuff.

Cheers R.B.

Good points, I'll look at updating that as soon as I get a minute.
