Project Involves Finding Dfferent Objects

Recommended Posts

Hi

I had a question: How do u go about completing a project that requires you to find different objects (like junks) that combine into the models (or 3d visualizations, if u will) of a product? Where do u get such objects? What should they be Do u just put everything together with some glue? Also what kind of models you can make out of stuff like paper or different kind of sheet material?

The answer to your first question is everywhere. From home, junk on the street, garbage or recycle bins at factories (ask permission first), local junkyards, .etc.

As for your second question, when faced with such type of project, I usually try to stay true to the material. For example, If it's mainly paper/cardboard I'll glue it or use folding methods to lock the parts. Sheetmetal I rivet, spot weld or use the same folding tricks. The idea is to use 'logical' connections that work with real products that use the same family of materials that you use.
