Guest GiudaBallerino Report post Posted November 24, 2006 SW opens it right up, but as a drawing. If it's a 3d model I use Rhinoceros to port it, but is kind of useless, as you don't have any features to edit, nor parameters to refer to. Don't know of any plug-in thou..... Guest desecrator Report post Posted November 24, 2006 .dxf IS for drawings and any software can open it. autoCAD saves as .dwg but you can convert your autoCAD drawing to .dxf and open them up in other softwares.
Guest monkeyboy Report post Posted November 24, 2006 I'm sure there's an option to import dxf/dwg files into your sketches (regular SW users might help out here with menu selection). These can be used as guides or dimensioned/constrained to enable you to parametrically update as required. might help - depends what you want to do with the 2D info... just to confirm - that's the ability to use 2D profiles to assist in your 3D models.
