Show us your wheels

Recommended Posts

Guest littlecog

Travel as both practical reality and philosophical metaphor is central to our experience as citizens of this planet. It also constitutes a large area of design opportunity and obbsession. So come on, show us your wheels! They don't have to be your own wheels. How about wheels we covet?

Here is one of my favourite vehicles mainly because it was custom built for me by Tom Board, one of the last post-war english frame builders and now retired (if not dead). Built entirely by hand and eye (no jigs to ensure alignment) by a crusty remant who may or may not have been drinking too much Polish vodka at the time. A motley selection of Reynolds 531 tubing and in its current incarnation set up as a fixed wheel urban assualt vehicle. The very manifestation of velophelia.

Normally I ride on 4 wheels but these wheels are my favorite and I have a Blast whenever I can. 1981 Ducati 900 a real classic bike in the making. Timeless design and the raw essense of motorcycling and technology that inspires.

Here is my ride. Ive had it 4.5 years, put 80,000 miles on it, i drive it everywhere. Ive changed almost every part on it, some of the big things include. I changed the engine in it, and it now has around 350 HP. It used to be an automatic, but i changed that also, and now has a 5 speed manual.

nice!...sweet 180! I've been toying with the idea of buying a 240 and doing the swap...cause here in America we never got the SR20DET turbo 2.0L engine.

*edit: not sure if you are in the US or not :P * hehe

My wheels have everything to do with becomming a Designer. Long before I became a Designer I was working on all kinds of mopeds and motorcycles and had a habit of modifying everything making it into my liking.
