Usability Of Sketching Tools

Saxion is studying the usability of sketching programmes before one gets into CAD programmes.

Used for the stadia of scribbles, rough ideas, pre-concepts and concepts.

We have seen and evaluated Photoshop, Painter, Sketchbook Pro and are condidering now StudioTools and Rhino.

All programmes show deficiencies either in usability, user friendliness, effectiveness etc.

Simple items as making adequate selections, brushes that are quick ascessible and changeable.

Paper that can be rotated etc. None of thes programmes show simplicity combined with optimal functionality.
