littlecog, funny how you call that tool a caliper in english, just like you have a caliper on a brake disk.. though they function almost the same, they're used for totally different things.... anyways, maybe just interesting if english isn't your first language.

yep! This is my work area at work. Notice the horribly anonymous office chairs. The building has been cunningly designed to look like a shoe box. But hey, I get to design bicycle stuff all day.

Callipers (or Claipers) are used for measuring stuff. I'm pretty sure that's right.
Vernier ("measuring scale") Callipers ("two movable arms sliding along a rod") are for measuring even smaller stuff. I think.
There are other callipers?
