The only thing i want to add to this topic is that people shouldnt forget that ergonomics doesnt apply to the average... If i would take those american army bla ergonomics i couldnt use them because those american aint as tall as the dutch (where im from). Just something to think about...

i bought "bodyspace" the other day for about $85 aussie dollars. i dont know how much ergonomics you guys do but i consider it an invaluable resource for a product designer.
it has tables for all the measurements you could need (not just height,etc but finger strenght etc), plus explanations of the measurements, extra considerations as well as things like behaviour analysis and all that jazz.
as designers it is our duty to make sure our designs are optimised for the widest range of users
