Guest markersmark Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Just thought I would add something about the course. Im not sure how well known he is but Jacques Giard has just finished leading a week long module on Innovation and Creativity in Design. Jacques Giard is Professor of Industrial Design and Director of the School of Design in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Arizona State University. I believe he plans to continue coming over to Leeds every year. He is a very inspirational lecturer and gave everyone on the course advice, we basically covered the following: Minimum aims and objectives Identify creative thinking skills in the design process. Identify basic theories of creative thinking Apply the skills of creativity in the exploration of problems Explain design through the model of the Designing Triad Demonstrate how human factors affect design Develop drawing skills as an aid to creativity Syllabus Basic theories of creative thinking in the design process Explanation of design through Designing Triad (user, designer, maker) Analysis of innovation and its value in design Opportunities to develop creativity in drawing and problem solving Introduction of the concept of evaluation in design
