police car for austria, cos Im fed up with this non-existent uniformity and renault meganes and ford escorts and ford focus's and all those other compact cars driving around- those are no representative cars, it's just old small cars, and this makes the police seem weak...

I also think they should introduce a MEAN siren, cos what we've got right here is a "please erm sorry may I be so bold as to beg you to drive to the right please s'il vous plaît por favor no hard feelings if you don't"-siren and I'd rather have the " get the ... out of my way"-siren...

Hehe, interesting idea to have a global Police brand that makes cop cars for police worldwide ;)

yeah, the thing is, in the US we've more or less got this situation, although suppliers may vary, but all in all it's Ford Crown Victoria or Chevy Impala ( or before that Chevy Caprice), and this kind of uniformity is lacking in Europe.

Here we've got cheap cars for the police, because they can't afford anything, but what if there was a standard car, and maybe a hatchback version of it, too?

I mean, Austria isn't that big a country but I can see rentability if we think SERVICE-

We've got Renaults and Fords and VWs, meaning multiple manufacturers meaning more costs if it comes to repairing, because there is no central supplier of hardware.

In the long run this would be way more inexpensive.

Imho it would suffice to buy a fleet of VW Passats, basic version 22900€, and then another fleet of Passat Variants, and we've got uniformity, a corporate identity if you will, and this'd be it, but if we tailor a car for the executive's needs and leave out beverage cup holders or leather interior or tiptronic, it'd be affordable, even for the police.

mobile phone with wireless headset, the mobile is an mp3player, too- I'll just have to figure out how to improve sound quality, but for that matter we've got this huge headset that functions as a loudpeaker, too.

Suppose you're running round in the city listening to your music and you get a call, answer it by pressing a button on the headset, the microphone appears and music volume is turned down or off while you talk...

Maybe one could add PDA-functions to the phone, but in order to work properly there'd have to be no more buttons counting 1 to 9, but a stylus with writing recognition, the question is how you're gonna have a highly sensitive touchscreen on a mobile phone that is bound to be bashed and stuff, but maybe a simple covering solution might help...

just found an....ancient design by me, it's dated April 2003, and this was the first and the last effort to digitalize sketches by digital-camera, since then I've been using the scanner...
