Photoshop Image Size?

Recommended Posts

Guest nate

when scaning in a sketch i usally do it at 300dpi - colour or grey scale it doesn't matter. i'm tracing it.

thou, when doing a free hand digital sketch/rendering in photoshop or painter etc.

what size do you make you images???

do you make it larger than what you want to print out???

i usally make mine A3 300dpi, so i can print it off in a3 - i could make it A3 150dpi.

the file sizes sometimes get very high.

cause once you draw an image in photoshop theres no way to increase the image size later is there????? without destroying image quality???

I usually keep the image resolution at about 1200x800 when sketching.. for renders I blow them up a bit, but rarely I make my images bigger than 3000 pixels wide. I then change the dpi's to fit them on A4 or A3, sometimes I resize here and there to fit the images.. I usually don't go for a fixed size or res.
