I needed to get a screen shot of my solidworks assembly without the background. I saved the image as a TIF and checked the option to remove the background that will make it transparent. When I opened the tiff file in Photoshop the whole image was a checkered. The assembly is still there, but it seems everything has become transparent instead of just the background.
I do not understand why the file export from solidworks made the entire image including my assembly transparent. I think it is a setting in photoshop that is causing this transparency problem. Also, I tried using GIMP 2.6, the image is still checkered.

Nissan4ever,
If you have saved the tiff, and in the save file dialog, gone to the options button and specify print capture, DPI and then check "remove Background" sounds like, as you've suggested that this is a PS bug. Perhaps try some other formats like save .psd out of SW and see if you get the same result?
