I am interested in hearing people's point of view as a designer to this statement. Is beauty in the eye of the designer? Do you agree or disagree with the statement?
I would be really greatefull if you could refer to some books or references regarding this subject to further my research.
Thank you for your time and help

Yes. There would be no style otherwise. And you know that design includes function and style.
This concept apply even to artisan work, as we find in the Shakers' philosophy about product design.

Beauty in design can be created only through its simplicity and designing. The simplest design you adopt the much more attractiveness you will get it from your product.

Hi,
I am completely agreed with this talk that beauty is in the eye of designer. According to my thought the designer whatever feels that you can seem in his design.

I'm not a believer in this, when something is beautiful it's beautiful, when something isn't – it isn't. What might happen though is different people will look at things for different reasons, some will pay attention to the colors others the shape yet others its function. This simply weeds out designs that can't hack it on all of these front and so is not 'beautiful'.
I'm also not a big fan of minimalism, others may find it attractive, but I find it boring.
