Hi,
I was trying to find products that are or have been used for unexpected things. Not so much that designers have re-used them but products that people have naturally found new uses for, perhaps through adapting them or just through neccesity. For some reason I cannot think of any, though I am sure there are many. Can anyone suggest any books on this topic?
Thanks.

I've heard of people in third world and developing countries repurposing bags, magazines and soda pop tabs, etc. to turn into retail merchandise.
I like to look at www.inhabitat.com . They feature re-purposed designs, like this blender into a lamp. http://inhabitat.com...ght-retro-lamp/

Hi Mate, the generic term for what you are talking about is 'technology transfere' this may help with any searches.
Good luck!
