The University Politecnico of Milano would like to present the new master in Industrial Design for Architecture.

Politecnico is one of the biggest public universities in Italy, and created this master to complete its formative offer.
The master is a first edition, a new entry in this sector, but already has a big faculty of sponsors ,as GIUGIARO Architettura and Sikkens (AkzoNobel).
The program has been set up to bring together expertise from two sectors of excellence in Italy: design and production of building components.

It enables students to combine product aesthetics and functionality with production efficiency in industrial and installation terms by offering them the opportunity to acquire skills specific to Industrial Design based on Italian design/production quality and applicable to the international market, which are fundamental to dealing with the evolution of the sector.
The master is an answer for a constantly changing job market, training professionals to design buildings and aesthetics components in the heterogeneous industrial production scenario. In such a development perspective this professional will demonstrate competencies of mass production, standardization and component-to-system compatibility.

The master will start on february the 21st, with a maximum of 15 students and will consist in up-front lessons, talks by experts from the various professional sectors, workshops, team and individual designing activities, visits to partner companies and participation in events and fairs proper to the sector. The program will end with a final design workshop and an internship with an Italian or international partner company or professional firm. The total amount of didactic hours will be 1500.

The master costs 13.500 euros.
We would like to inform you that there are 5 partial scholarships for foreign students, awarded on the basis of curricula and motivation, one at 50% and the remaining 4 at 25% of the cost of the master.
The deadline to send the curricula to formazione@polidesign.net to win one of the 5 scholarships offered by our academic partners will be on 06 August 2010.

Just put in my application for the spring semester! Can't wait to hear back about the industrial design architecture program. Hopefully one day I can be a roofing contractor.
