Need Help (solidworks)

Recommended Posts

Guest xixo_12

I have mould design (3D file) but I don't have the part (3D file)

Can I create 3D file for part using the mould design?

How can I do that if possible?

Please help

It's on solidworks platform :).

With some work>

you might be able to do one of two things:

1) extract the surfaces from to mold that make up the part and restitch them back together

2) make a solid block that envelops the part and subtract the mold parts from it.

Whatever the case it may not be cut and dry, there may be some manual repairing work to be done.

You will then more than likely have to scale the mold shrinkage(added to the mold design to accomodate fore the material shrinkage) out of the part as well.

As underdog says you should be able to put the two halves of the mould in an assembly, and then a block of material that is larger than the area of the part and subtract the mold volume out of the block - hence leaving the part.
