Modeling A Barcelona Chair

Recommended Posts

Guest Foursnow

Hey everyone, I need some help! I'm in the process of modeling a Barcelona chair, so far I've gotten the legs and leather straps all modeled however I'm struggling with the actual leather cushions. I'm trying to model them as lofted surfaces and creating sketches every few inches of what the cross section would look like but it does not look as accurate.

There HAS to be a better / easier way, what would you all recommend??? I'm decent with Solidworks I just haven't messed around much in surfaces. Thanks for the help!

Attached is my current progress, and a picture of an actual Barcelona chair!

there is another topic in the posts section where someone had a similar problem with cushioning and buttons. Something like, "How to model this chair" or, "Help with surfacing" or something like that. It will be in the 3d skills section somewhere. Good luck finding it.
