Product Design For Architects?

Recommended Posts

Guest Amrita Kulkarni

Hey guys.. I am an architect from India with diverse interests in all fields of design. I am looking to apply for my masters' study at TU Delft, for the IPD course. Are architects applying for this course an unusual thing? Does this course require any specific work experience in the field before application? I am a jack of all trades - and I have a post graduate diploma in Indian Art History along with B.Architecture. I am very interested in the IPD course but lack the industry/working knowledge; but I am keen on taking it up. How can I make up my portfolio in this scenario- cause I only have architectural projects to my credit ?

Hi Amrita, I'm starting my IPD master course this year. I've had 2 years work experience as a designer and engineer and before that finished my bachelor studies in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design elswhere.

I'm not aware of any architects applying this year but I guess you're going to have to show a variaty of skills. Sketching, Mechanics, Electronics etc. Show it in a structural manner with a clear view of the process of each project.

You can always call the faculty and ask what to send for your application.

Good Luck
