GM donated the historic, Albert Kahn designed Argonaut Building. It was the original home of Harley Earl's design studio and September 8 it opens as a unique creative community. Middle School, high school, undergraduate and graduate level programs, along with a Design Research Center and creative incubator are all included. There is even a gymnasium. The New Center area, where the new campus is located, is about 5 minutes from the existing CCS campus. The majors in the new design center include: Product, Transportation, Automotive, Interior, Graphic and Advertising. Remaining on the original CCS campus are: Illustration, Entertainment Arts, Photo and Crafts. Art Ed, Liberal Arts and Foundations also remain at the original Midtown campus. A shuttle service will be running 24/7 between the campuses.

Product students will be excited to have more studio space with lots of natural light and great views from the 9th and 10th floor.
Detroit has not had the much to brag about lately, but this facility shows we're not ready to give up yet.
