    Motorcycle Rendering

Hi ??? I'm confused... I replied on a post made by some stranger, who digged out zombie threads...just to write things like.. hey cool nice wow My post mainly was adressed to this guy. Nevertheless... My point was, that you cannot DESIGN a motorcycle within a few days. Designing is much more than make cool pics. Like what I said (meant) you can RENDER, DRAW, Illustrate somenthing within a few days, BUT not design something like a motorbike within a few days. And that's what he said..I designed this bike a few days ago... That's my point. Designing takes care of function, form/esthetics, manufacturing, ecological and economical circumstances, etc...etc.... well at least in my understanding/language. (I'm swiss...) Help me, if its different in english...

    Motorcycle Rendering

Sorry, mate. But this is crap. Because this has absolutley nothing to do with design/designing! You cannot DESIGN a motorcycle within a few days! You can DRAW or RENDER it, etc. BUT designing is far more than just make a cool pic. (I doesn't even look that cool) Technically, this bike would not work. - Center of mass to high - headlamp pointig out to nowhere - Proportions - etc... Sorry, I have the feeling, outhere are a lot of people who THINK they are a designer just because of they can do cool renderings...Naahhh. To be a product/industrial designer is far more! And that's all abut in this forum...PRODUCTdesignforums.com Sorry mate, that it hit you...don't take it to personal.

    Used To Determine All

I prefer ordinary ball pens... It forces me to think more before drawing, respectively get the focus on the hand and what I'm doing. Because I cannot erase anything... If I use pencil, I have to hide all the rubbers around me. Otherwise I tend to correct all the time, instead focussing on the flow of the hand.

    Design Books Recommendations

www.designsketching.com Learning Curves (2011) - Aims at showing you the tips, tricks and methods that will teach you how to really learn to sketch. Design Sketching (2005) – A bestseller and highly regarded source of inspiration for designers and students throughout the world These books are hilarious! A must have for everyone who's into sketching and product-, industrialdesign. I got mines a few days ago. I'm stoked! Thousand thanks to Allan, Klara and Erik! Together with "Sketching: the basics" and "Darstellungstechnik und Design" from Alexander Ott (Germany) ISBN 978-3-8307-1393-7 the best Material you can find on the market. (My own suggestion) You won't need more on non-digital sketching and rendering. br, Manuel
