Hi there, long time, no see. I`m back. here is my latest project 797 for Boeing. it has got a slight variations between pictures, as the final design has additional horizontal stabilizers, while it is not depicted in some pics. -

Thank you for appreciating it! It is my own idea and is not a part of any competition. I plan building another model, but can`t decide what could it be. It might be next generation bomber ( successor to B-2) or Ford Mustang. Or it could be SR-71 successor, which is not completely sketched yet. -

797 took almost 2 months to build. It is a clean sheet design , is about 115 centimetres long and 120cm wide. if you are interested I have some pics where it is under construction. initial idea was to build it in 4 engine configuration , where 2 engines would be integrated in vertical stabilizers and pylons . later the idea was discarded. Anyway, here is a finalised version of RAH 68` Navajo`. -

Front view and sideview. The exit doors and emergency doors will have much larger windows, as their size does not compromise fuselage strength and as the doors are a seperate structure within a fuselage. -

Various views. Next generation high bypass ratio engines. The blades will be also connected in the outer ring similar to some shrouded fans on helicopters. If an object penetrates and breaks a fan paddle, it will not break out the whole paddle as it is connected to inner and outer ring, Instead it will break only a fragment in direct hit. This will help to keep engine intact from destruction caused by huge force of inertia exerted to a broken paddle, which in order could compromise various electrical systems and other blades if directly hit by a whole broken out blade. -

Autogyro Or Gyrcopter Project...
advancedboy replied to MiroslavGeorgiev's topic in Finished Projects
It is an interesting project. The rear propeller has an interesting configuration. As it is closer to the main rotor it will use more power to compensate for autorotation of the fuselage, thus implying excess fuel consumption, as opposed to using a longer driveshaft and moving the propeller more towards aft. It would have no measurable loss if it had a double rotor configuration as that of used on Kamov choppers. The `neck` above the fuselage looks dangerously skinny. Keep on improving!!! -
Buick Maelstrom revisited. And Chevrolet Avalanche nex gen . I used SketcPro 6 trial version. In 2 weeks I am getting graphic tablet. The era of using mouse for sketching is approaching the end. Hopefully for good:)

The rearview. I moved the `USB` downwards as well. The second pic is the original.

Here is the front part of P1 revisited. It should also have an area of tranquility, although I have a belief, that front view also includes hood plane as well, so if the hood is `busy`, the front buper area should have tranquil area , where `not too much should be going on` to put it in simple terms. the second pic is the original. I also changed some details in lighting and roofline pillars. What do you think?

McLaren P1 edited. Area of tranquility observed. The second pic is the original by McLaren. Area of tranquility ignored. I also tried to edit some other details as well, roofline, the front, etc.

Usb Flash Drive With Flash Light
advancedboy replied to Sang Hyun Jeong's topic in Finished Projects
People will always try to stick those flash drives in their pockets. And it might be troublesome. An idea of having LED light is interesting, but not really a symbiotic staple. As a design object I would like the object to be more convincing in one plane- either be thinner and wider, or maybe longer. Cube is a risky business in design. How about simply designing a thin classic flash drive with USB connectors at both ends one with mama one with papa end. A lot of people use USB flashes , but they have a lot of them , but their laptops usually have 3-4 jacks, and some of them are already occupied by wireless mouse sensors, etc. Why not create a flash where you could insert it in one USB port and the next flash is attached to the end of the previous one. This way you could add flash drives endlessly , creating something like a memory snake:) Just my inflation distilled 2 cents:) -

Copying Competitors Turns Out To Be Poor Business Strategy For A Chinese Carmaker
advancedboy replied to admin's topic in Design in China
Copying competitors is a slippery statement as a bucket of eels. Did they copy the general elements of the car, which remind you of something, or they copy-pasted the shape directly of a competitors design from mold casts? Anyway, I do not endorse copying anything, although copying is better than doing nothing. It gives at least some kind of accumulated expertise, and gives engineers a better experience than outsourcing all the engineering abroad. And in what way Selling Toyota Matrix as a Pontiac Vibe is better than BYD chipping off some clues from their `archrivals`? The only difference is proprietary. Any Chinese company building a cheap Apple spinoffs is actually smarter than the Apple itself, as they are able to construct a copycat domestically. Is there any US based company that could fake a Sony Bravia even if the legislation gave it a go ahead?. My guess is a no. Anyway, copying is an indirect flattery that your product is successful. In the end we must measure what is more important, a well established company that might lose a share of its profits, or a new kid on the block in the heavy segment of added value industry who is too weak for a while to stand on its own feet for a maiden flight. To my mind a merc based Denza concept is better startoff, than a regular near -Detroit shutdown based on a continuous outsourcing of real engineering. Just exercising an opinion. -

Here is the production version of Acura NSX concept. I took the concept and tried to modify some things I was not so sure about. What do you think? The first pic is the modified one, the second one is the original by Acura.

American choppers are a risky venue, because most of them are on verge of not complying to industrial design at all. Some of your bikes are more professionally designed than most Harley Davidson`s ever built. Spare the V-Rod.when indivuduals take those bikes and start their creative approach to take over the bike, in most cases they ruin the industrial design. No matter how interesting it is to look at them, they can`t hit a high mark in professional design. I also enjoy many interesting ideas, but only if they are reigned within industrial compliance. A good example would be Victory Vision bike which does have elements of old-timer, chopper, and tourer, yet is definitely an industrial design sample. Anyway, here is your bike with some minor tuneups. I also moved the fork a notch forward and tilted it up slightly. if it is offensive to you, I will remove the pic.
