A while back I finished this project. It was a project where we had to redesign a cheese shredder to a product safe to use for all! Also the appearance of the product should resemble the form style of the 50's. To make this product safe so nobody chops of this fingers I thought of a device where you can push the cheese on the shredder. It gives a lot of different parts, but safety above everything! I am curious to know what you guys think of it?

Although I am usually not a stickler for obsessive detailing, I do suggest increasing the girth of the slider, so that it expedites the shredding process, as that will allow the slider to cover more are on the shredder. No matter, this is the single most innovative product I have seen in my my small time on this forum. Thank you for your time, effort and dedication to such a creative project!

A few negatives would be, there are a lot more extra parts to clean for what would usually just be one simple grater to wash up after use. It would also be a bit of a faff cutting up bits of cheese to fit into the slider.

Overall i think its a nice solution to your problem, nice renders, good work

it is nice looking...but, i do not think it would work very well. in use the upright tubular handle would easily become unvertical and the front or rear edge would catch on the grater. maybe if it were not circular and more elongated so it had more area riding on the outside rail of the metal grater it would work?

i agree with the the point above about all those extra parts - added complexity to a simple single part product the classic cheese grater.

sweet renderings and story boards. an arrow or two showing the motion of use and disassembly would make them even nicer!!

Thanks for al the comments on my work, I agree with the comment, I already finished this project, but some improvements would be good, so maybe I can stick some time in it again, to make it a little better. The comment on circular form, you're wright halocooter, I didn't think of it, that it would be easily tilted, the first concept wasn't circular but had a more square form, but this didn't really fit the form style of the 50's. Maybe I can think of something to find a solution to this problem! biggrinsmiley.gif

The material is plastic, but I don't think it's to slippery, a lot of kitchen appliances are made of plastic, If it is to slippery I can think of some grip, but I think that could destroy the design. Thank for the comment
