part1 Problem
In ordinary physical exercises, peope have to pay great perseverance and pain to have a strong body. But peope is always beaten by a short but with great agility and burst power, just like Bruce Lee and Jet Li.That's because that we always shape our bady by humdrum and joyless exercise.By that way ,we can just enlarge the volume and the absolute power of our muscles, but the exercises take our agility and speed down.So in my opinion, physical exercises should no only shape our muscle, but also increase all the aspect of our body .We must have great speed ,burst powew, great agility, nice flexility and enough stamina,at first;then it's the absolute power's turn.If we enhance our absolute power of muscle unilaterally,we can't beat a rival down, who is well trained in all aspect of body.

part2 Resolution
This antetype of idea is based on the Mu Ren Zhuang which is used in practising Chinese kongfu "Wing Chun Kuen".With the concept of the "DDR"(Dance dance revolution:a dance TV game of KONOMI),we can have a great funny experience during our exercises. The point of the desigh is to practise every part of your muscle comprehensively through a funny way.You will never feel boring. The most important part of this desigh is that it can practise yor body's agiliy, flexiliy and stamina.

part3 how to play.
With the music, you will see some of the body model's beat point is light. You have to beat it with your most swift reaction and greatest powe. The system sense the reaction time and the power on the beat point,it will give a synthetized result.Of cause ,you can config the system to have a mono-test of one of your body's parameter. What's great is that the equipment can have a self-defence mode.In this mode, the model will defend its self. All you can do is to hedge and fight back. That's a great way to practise your ability of defence and counter-attack.

Cool concept, very original in my opinion. I had a lot of fun playing that PS dance game of Konami. Have you thought about the construction and materials of your concept, to make it flexible and durable?

I'll leave some feedback, since I actually practise Wing Chun!
First of all, I think the concept is great, but I feel that there are a lot of things left unexplained. I mean, is this thing heavy or how can it withstand a punch to its head without toppling over? The target on the base (for stomp kicks?) also seem like the thing needs to be very heavy and sturdy and that would make it difficult to move around. But I guess this isn't for home use anyway? The movement is also interesting, though I can't understand why the arms need to rotate. I like that there are targets on it's site, so you can still throw a straight punch even though it's swiveling. Shouldn't the arms be longer, though? I guess there should be a picture with someone parrying while punching, so we can get a feel for how it works when it moves. Oh, I just figured that perhaps the last picture with defence and counter-attack is supposed to show movement... and now I see that the arm is extending? According to your movement diagram, the arms are only able to rotate? As I said, more communicative pictures would be great. And to nit-pick a bit, the counter-attack comes at the same time as the defense in Wing Chun. Also, you have a picture of someone kicking in chest height. According to what I've learned in Wing Chun, we never, ever kick above the waist (it's too slow). PS. I should mention that I'm not experienced enough to have started with the wooden dummy yet. I've only taken my first grade. -------------------- Art should tell a story. Don't paint a moment, paint a lifetime.

Wow this is a great idea! I practise Wing Chun too and while it may not completely replicate real fighting, I think it would help train reflexes, accuracy and timing, since it would make us strike in random combinations. It would be a great too for non-martial artists to de-stress.
Just a few questions. What will the strike points be made of and will there be some kind of interface screen? Also wondering if there would be a way to personalise the unit like adding a picture of someones' face? hahaha...just kidding... Great work dude. |
