nice design - though I'm not a fan of smoking. Are they made out of glass?? Very nice! (would you really need 4 fitted together like that though?)
Since the smoking ban in England, it seems strange to have ash trays in a hotel lol -------------------- |

It would be very difficult and expensive to mold the inner cavity

It looks neat, but looks expensive to make "Slip cast ceramic" cast the globe seprate from the base, "weld" base and globe together with slip, glaze, fire, cool.....fairly inexpensive, easy tooling, and heat resistant material. I think it would work great. I really like the look too. you wouldn't actually mold the inner cavity either, the tooling would create a ceramic sphere with a flat that was indented with the circle opening and dimple for holding the cigarette, the wall inside of the circle dimple shape would then be cut out, and you then have your hollow sphere. I hope I've explained that correctly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slipcasting

Hello and thanks for your comments.
It was done finally in crystal glass not in plastic ;-) i want to do it in white but costumer decide to clear crystal glass in case of plastic it will be done in a similar process (two steps) the "globe" is just a outer mold the plastic is inject and blow up to touch the inner wall of the mould.
