I do alot of photoshop and CAD work on my PC, which I built (and have slowly upgraded for two years now). Recently I have noticed my level of intensity of work has increased and I'm thinking of upgrading. This is especially since I was given a fantastic graphics card as payment by one of my clients, and I think it now out-performs my computer! (Radeon 9800 XT 256)
My current specs are Athlon XP 2600 with 512MB DDR. I don't know whether it is worth my while upgrading the memory (to a Gig or so), or buying a new processor, or even if it's worth really biting the bullet and splashing out on a dual-core system. I'd really appreciate any suggestions for how I should spent my money for maximum performance but without breaking the bank (if I can avoid it). Solutions please! -------------------- |
