High Speed Train

I watched the discovery program nextworld about high speed trains, and that made me think about the following idea.
Amsterdam and Paris are now connected by the high speed train thalys, the distance is about 500 km, the train travels at 300 km/h and it still takes more than 4 hours! Obviously this is because of all the stops and that's where some real travel time reduction can be accomplished.

What if you would have a High speed train that goes directly from Amsterdam to Paris, and a Transfer shuttle that goes from city to city, getting people on and off the high speed train inbetween the cities. The High speed train would have to slow down to 120 km'h, drive next to the Transfer shuttle, a connection would be made and people would get on and of in about 4 minutes, the trains disconnect, the Transfer shuttle drives to the next city, and the High speed train would accelerate to 300 km/h again.

This way, it should be able to travel from Amsterdam to Paris in under 2 hours, I'd like to hear your opinions about it!
here a first (very) rough sketch, just to illustrate the idea for everyone who is bored by all the text above
http://www.productdesignforums.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=16177
http://www.productdesignforums.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=16175

Drawing Skills

hi everybody. I am having this ridiculous situation at uni, none of the people in my group can draw (without exaggeration). The only "drawing skills" lesson we had, was 30 min demonstration of magic markers rendering (by 1 tutor on a small table in the middle of the room for 40 students i bet half of them couldnt see anything at all). Let alone the fact we never did anything about line drawing etc.
None of the tutors gives a thing of how our "designs" look like as long as we have "good" ideas. With all my respect to "good ideas" i dont understand how we are going to sell the best idea in the world without being able to communicate it properly!!!
All we do is "try to understand the real needs of people", investigating some complicated graphs and charts about some complicated design researches and all sorts of crap...
so my question is (sorry i am kind of depressed ) where and how did you gain your drawing skills? I see a lot of people on the forum with brilliant sketches and renderings, can anyone achieve good results by independent practise?
i would appreciate any advise , thanks

Best Marker To Use!

Hi People,

I have only just literally joined this forum two minutes ago. I was wondering what the best marker would be to use for car design. I did some work experience at Ford's design studios and they were using Copic markers. I was wondering what Tria Markers where like and which one people would recommend.
Thanks for your time guys

Tom

Help Revising My Thesis Project Folio Pages

Hey guys, I'm having trouble making my senior project into a good portfolio piece. It was sponsored by Volvo and Hypershot, and I think it's a really cool solution to an obvious problem, but it just doesn't read well. Need some help doing the layout, and graphics so that it can explain itself, without having me walking people through it.

Here's how it is, currently:

I already have some things I'm going to do in the next revision, but I'd like to hear even more input first. I would really appreciate a hard critique. If you think this isn't even a good design solution and shouldn't be shown, let me know.
